Brent & Melissa Hurt
About the Hurt's ~
“But God, because of his great love for us and who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our sins.” (Ephesians 2:4 – 5)
“I love the outdoors—hunting, fishing, archery. I love being in nature and seeing the wonders of God’s creation. Did you know that you can teach archery in rural schools? You can teach kids about the parts of the bow and how to shoot and life lessons, too. Through Rural Compassion, I’m able to take something I love, partner with rural pastors, and equip them to go into the schools and make friends with kids who desperately need to hear a positive adult voice in their lives.”
Brent has worked with Rural Compassion for five years, and loves seeing the creativity and excitement that stirs in churches when God’s Spirit uses them to engage their communities. He’s helped churches and pastors dream big, from leading back to school outreaches to encouraging a senior adult Sunday School group to adopt their local school.
“God is stirring in rural America, and Rural Compassion is in the place where it can partner with these churches to not only meet needs, but to bring life-transformation.”
